Terms of Use
Privio is an offline-first privacy app — your data stays on your device and belongs to you. We never receive it, so we can never recover, restore, view, modify, or reset it either. Keep your backup password safe: without it, an encrypted backup cannot be recovered by anyone, including us. Use the app lawfully, and these Terms exist mostly to make those things legally clear.
Agreement to these terms & about Privio
These Terms of Use ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the Privio application, developed by Vibhutix. By downloading, installing, or using Privio, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree with these Terms, please discontinue using the application.
Privio is an offline-first privacy application designed to help you securely organize and manage your personal information. The application currently provides:
Your license to use Privio
Vibhutix grants you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, and revocable license to use Privio for your personal or lawful professional use, subject to these Terms.
You may not:
- Reverse engineer, decompile, or modify the application except where permitted by applicable law.
- Redistribute, resell, or sublicense the application without written permission.
- Use the application for unlawful activities or in violation of applicable laws.
Your data
All information stored within Privio belongs to you. Privio is designed with an offline-first architecture, meaning your data remains on your device unless you explicitly choose to export an encrypted backup.
Vibhutix does not have access to your passwords, notes, IDs, cards, or any other information stored within the application. Because we never receive your data, we cannot recover, restore, view, modify, or reset it.
Backup responsibility
Privio allows you to create encrypted backup files to protect your data. You are solely responsible for:
- Creating backups regularly.
- Choosing a secure storage location for backup files.
- Remembering your backup password.
- Protecting backup files from unauthorized access.
If you lose your backup password, delete your backup file, uninstall the application without a backup, or lose access to your device, your stored information may be permanently unrecoverable. Vibhutix cannot recover encrypted backups or restore lost data.
App security
Privio includes security features designed to help protect your information, including:
- App Lock
- Optional biometric authentication
- Encrypted local storage
- Encrypted backup files
These features improve the security of your stored information but cannot guarantee protection against every circumstance. The security of your information also depends on the security of your device, operating system, and your own security practices.
Acceptable use
You agree to use Privio responsibly and in accordance with applicable laws. You must not use Privio to:
- Store or distribute unlawful content.
- Violate intellectual property rights.
- Attempt unauthorized access to systems or networks.
- Engage in fraudulent, malicious, or harmful activities.
- Misuse Developer Mode for illegal purposes.
Developer Mode
Developer Mode provides optional advanced utilities intended for technical users. These tools operate entirely on your device and do not transmit information to Vibhutix. You are responsible for understanding and safely using these features.
Updates
Privio may receive updates, bug fixes, security improvements, and new features through official distribution channels. While we strive to maintain compatibility, some updates may modify or improve existing functionality. We recommend keeping the application updated to benefit from the latest improvements and security enhancements.
Disclaimer of warranties
Privio is provided "AS IS" and "AS AVAILABLE", without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied. To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Vibhutix disclaims all warranties, including but not limited to:
- Merchantability
- Fitness for a particular purpose
- Non-infringement
- Availability
- Accuracy
- Reliability
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Vibhutix shall not be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from or related to the use of Privio. This includes, but is not limited to:
- Loss of stored information.
- Forgotten backup passwords.
- Deleted or damaged backup files.
- Device failure or loss.
- Factory resets.
- Unauthorized access resulting from a compromised device.
- User mistakes or misuse of the application.
Changes to these terms
We may update these Terms from time to time to reflect new features, legal requirements, or improvements to Privio. The latest version will always be made available through the application or official distribution channels. Continued use of Privio after updated Terms become effective constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
Governing law
These Terms shall be governed by and interpreted in accordance with the laws of India, without regard to its conflict of law principles. Any disputes arising from these Terms shall be subject to the jurisdiction of the competent courts in India.
